We are here to protect and serve.

I have been piercing since the early 90s after starting at Venus Modern Body Arts in NYC. I was lucky enough to have been exposed to the teachings of Fakir Musafar and Gauntlet second-hand from senior piercers from both schools of thought. Myself and my mentor, Dave Rodriguez, blended the styles and went on to start our own shop called Shaman in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Restlessness seized us and I moved to Boston to work at "The Garage" for a week, hated it, and rejoined Dave in California where I guested at Primieval in LA and Nomad in SF (both are now closed or relocated). From there I went back to NYC to help start New York Adorned where I stayed for another five years. During that time I had a side business called Red Beans and took the opportunity to be a guest piercer at High Priestess in Eugene, IN2U London, and Hot Rod Piercing in Pittsburgh PA. NYC got gentrified and the scene starting falling apart so I moved to Portland to work at Blackhole. After more than a year there, opportunity knocked and here I am operating the sexiest shop in PDX!

In 2000 Dave Rodriguez and I started Shaman Jewelry making bronze and silver ear weights. We were both over wearing enormous plugs in our lobes and loved the classic look of ear weights, but noone else was making them at the time. We did that for a couple of years, selling our stuff at APP and to other shops around the country, and then decided to quit the business and save the friendship. I went on to start Angry God Productions, continuing to make ear weights as well as silver and copper earrings and hoops. (Click here to check out Angry God jewelry.)

I've been involved in the body modification community since about 2000, and have been intrigued by piercing and such for as long as I can remember. I was given the opportunity to start an apprenticeship at Robot in July 2005. I love it. Working with Jon and Autumn has been a delight. Our customers are awesome and our jewelery selection rocks! I've also been lucky to travel to Eugene to work at High Priestess Piercing and to Seattle at Laughing Buddha.

Ever since I was little I've enjoyed the tasty morsels of metal in my flesh as well as admired it in others. I realized quickly that this little monkey wanted to be the one to stab people and after a few years of shopping at Robot Piercing the geeky robot within me made itself known to the world. I am lucky enough to learn the art of body piercing from such very talented robots.

I'm the web/graphic designer and marketing overlord for Robot. I'm looking forward to the coming robot rebellion and have been collecting robotic jewelry for the last 7 years at least, building up a stockpile so that we can live off of it when the shit hits the fan. I also like to make clothes.

Autumn (aka Cookie) is an honorary Robot. She was the first little Robot to join the army after Jon opened his doors back in the day. In her words... When I turned 18 I got a job at Paragon Body Piercing in Hawaii and have been working at shops since then. I spent the last 3 years at High Priestess in Eugene where I apprenticed to pierce. I prefer to do free-hand techniques and specialize in surface piercings. I just finished school at PNCA for photography and am now working at Enigma Piercing in San Diego. I promise to come back and visit and will work at the shop when they need me. Promise!
