pIERCING AFTERCARE

How to take great care during your healing process!

Salt water soaks

Measure 1/4 teaspoon of non ionized sea salt to 8 oz of warm clean water. Or make a large batch, 4 teaspoons to 1 gallon of filtered or distilled water and store it in the refrigerator.

Submerge piercing for 5 -10 minutes. For hard to dunk areas, use a cotton disc soaked for a compress.

Dry thoroughly with a clean paper towel.

Make sure your jewelry is secure, check ends every now and then when cleaning.

Oral additions

Buy a new toothbrush! There is a lot of bacteria on our old one.

Find a non alcohol based mouthwash and swish after meals.

Salt water swishes throughout the day are great too!

Downsizing is super important for your teeth and gums. Check in after 3-4 weeks and we can get you the perfect fit!

do’s and dont’s

Dont touch it!! No need to twist or pick, that can introduce bacteria and extend your healing time. Only handle you piercing while cleaning with clean hands.

Leave your jewelry in. Healing tissue can and will closed very quickly.

Keep your fresh piercing out of sitting water (pools, hot tubs, the ocean, etc.) for at least a month. Longer is better.

Don’t let anybody lick your fresh piercing, especially animals.

Don’t follow odd advice. If you are concerned, please contact a professional first.
